Revelstoke, the ski resort in the heart of British Columbia, has the longest lift-served vertical in North-America and features an incredible elevation of 7,300 feet. Thanks to that you can expect an annual snowfall of 30-45 feet every season. The ski resort is among Canada's largest ones and offers winter athletes more than 3,121 acres of both groomed and ungroomed trails.

Even though the main focus is on expert skiing, featuring more than 45 percent expert terrain, that doesn't mean intermediates and beginners have to miss out. There is abundant terrain to satisfy all ability levels and the best thing about Revelstoke is that you don't have to share it with too many others. Where else in the world do you have access right from the valley to go cat-skiing, heli-skiing, backcountry skiing and lift skiing? This is possible since the famous Selkirk powder is falling in abundance.

Even if beginner runs only make up 7 percent of the total 69 runs there's still enough to do for ski novices. The Turtle Creek beginner area and Little Bit are beginner runs. Gentle slopes are Tickle Trunk and Tumbelina, these are both blue runs on the lower mountain. The Last Spike is a beginner run and the longest trail on the mountain at 9.5 miles, it runs from the top of the Stoke chair to the base.

Revelstoke holds 45.5 percent full of challenges for skiers on the more experienced side. In order to find intermediate slopes you might want to hop into the Revelation Gondola from where you get access to great trails like Snow Rodeo, Feller Buncher, and Wooley Bulley. Those remain pretty wide-open but will make you want to bring your skills to the next level. Around the Ripper chair you will find two additional well-groomed runs that are suitable for all athletic skiers. Here you get to hit great powder whilst tree-skiing.

The resort takes expert skiing seriously, boasting extremely challenging runs for the most part and having the ideal terrain for those who want to progress to backcountry skiing. You can choose if you want to hit wide-open bowls, moguls, or really steep glades. Take the 4 passenger high speed chairlift The Stoke to find tons of trails that are designated black. Seperate Reality, SWF, Pitch Black, or Hot Sauce are just a few examples of the huge variety.

All thrill-seekers should head to The North Bowl where you can hit the real deal, such as the Greely Bowl that descends into the black Big Woody. Generally speaking, Mount Mackenzie offers a pretty outstanding off-piste terrain that brings you through the woods and you'll often be the first explorer of fresh lines and piles of snow.

Freestylers get their money's worth at the local terrain park. With a variety of features, it promises fun and action for beginners and experts alike. And even children get to take part - right next to the terrain park, at the Gnome Zone, they get to whizz through a tunnel and ske through smaller features in the trees.
