Winter sports are gaining more and more popularity in the Ukrainian Carpathians. A high snow reliability is usually guaranteed between November and April. Ukrainian ski resorts, such as Bukovel, offer modern lifts as well as perfectly groomed, varied slopes. Dragobrat is the country's highest ski resort (1,800 metres) and scores with gorgeous views over Carpathian peaks.
Hotels and inns tend to adhere to western standards, allowing for a comfortable stay. Furthermore, winter holidays in the Ukraine are more affordable than in the Alps. You should note, however, that there is no airport near the Carpathians; arriving from Lviv or Kiev you have to calculate with a transfer of several hours.
