The Cross-Country Area
Cross-Country Skiing really is something at this high-country site, traversing ideal skiing terrain. Nine lakes and vast forest can be viewed in distant panoramas along Buena Vista's 25 kilometers (16 miles) of trails. The landscape of Buena Vista is exceptionally scenic. The trails meander through forests of pine and hardwood, over rolling hills and skirt the shores of serene lakes. The Buena Vista Ski trails require the MN Ski Pass, which is not available at Buena Vista.
The difficulty of Buena Vista trails varies between intermediate and advanced. After cross-country skiing, you can visit the Tubing Park and slide downhill on tires!

- The high point of the cross-Country skiing area is located at an elevation of 423 m.
- Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 96 cm at summit elevation and 45 cm at the base.

Getting Here
From Minneapolis, it's about a four-hour drive to Buena Vista Ski Area. The best way to get there is flying into Minneapolis - Saint Paul International Airport and renting a car there. Parking spaces are available directly at the trail entrance spots.
