The Cross-Country Area
In Grainau below the Zugspitze, cross-country skiers will find four trails with a total length of 16 km.
In Obergrainau, the 4 km long Törlenweg cross-country trail starts towards Eibsee. The circuit consists of a slight ascent and a descent, but is still suitable for beginners. The Zugspitzbad-Loipe is the only cross-country ski run that is only groomed for classic style, all others are designed for classic cross-country skiing as well as skating. A part of the Krepbach-Loipe in the Untergrainauer Feld is illuminated as a night trail from 17.30 to 22.00 o'clock. On the Hammersbach cross-country trail you also have access to the cross-country trail network of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
If you want to run longer distances, you can combine some of the trails. The cross-country trails Zugspitzbad and Krepbach as well as Zugspitzbad and Hammersbach can each be combined to form an 8 km long circuit. All three trails together make a 12 km long lap.
