The Cross-Country Area
Located in Alberta's snow belt, the Lake Louise cross-country area not only offers perfect snow and weather conditions but also a unique natural beauty with a large wildlife variety. Sunshine and blue skies, as well as Alberta's longest winter season from mid November to mid April make for ideal cross-country conditions. The necessary equipment is available for sale and rental at the shops nearby.
A wonderful destination near the ski area is the Banff National Park. Only limited commercial development and the view of the "rugged Canadian Rockies" offer an authentic experience of the natural surroundings. Animals such as elk, deer and sheep can be observed in the national park.
Other activities in the ski area include ice skating, snowshoe hiking and even the opportunity for some ice hockey.
