The Cross-Country Area
The trail network on Mt Ashwabay & Jerry Jolly/Pike's Creek is located above Lake Superior and stretches through snowy forests and beautiful landscapes. 40 kilometers (25 miles) of trail, suited for classic and skating cross-country, offer the ideal difficulty level for everyone.
Sugar Bash Dog Trail even offers the opportunity to go skiing with your dog. The skijoring trail is 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) long.

- Offering 40 km cross-country trails, Mount Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area is among the 15 largest Cross-Country Skiing Areas in the USA.
- The highest point of the track is 320 m above sea level.
- Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 47 cm at summit elevation and 31 cm at the base.

Dining along the Tracks
The winter sports enthusiasts can warm themselves in the chalet located next to the parking lot at Raven Trail or the yurt at Seagull Trail. Picnic tables are found right next to the trail all over the area and can easily be located using the trail map.
Getting Here
Mt Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area is about an 8-minute drive away from Bayfield, Wisconsin. Take the 13S State Highway and turn onto Ski Hill Road. This road will take you straight to the cross-country area.
Duluth International Airport is about a two-hour drive away.
