The Cross-Country Area
The entrance to the tracks of the Nordic Centre Breitenberg-Jägerbild is directly at the Blutwurzhütte in Jägerbild. About 20 kilometres of cross-country trails lead you through the snow-covered winter landscape of the Bavarian Forest. With classic cross-country skiing or skating you have a wonderful view of the Bavarian Forest Mountains and the neighbouring Hochficht ski area.
The Most Beautiful Tracks
In total there are 4 cross-country trails available in the cross-country skiing centre. The predominantly blue marked routes offer good practice possibilities also for beginners.

- Bloodroot trail: 8.3 km / marked blue
- Bear's Root Trail: 5.3 km
- Skating trails: 6,8 km
Interesting facts
- The highest point of the track is 807 m above sea level.
- Snow coverage is usually best during March, offering an average snow depth of 75 cm at summit elevation and 36 cm at the base.
Dining along the Tracks
At the starting and finishing points of the cross-country trails, the popular Blutwurzhütte offers a good opportunity to stop for a break. Here you can enjoy delicious specialities as well as coffee and cake from cross-country skiing.
Getting Here
Coming from Deggendorf you leave the A3 at exit 114-Aicha vorm Wald and turn left. At Hutthurm take the B12 to the exit direction Waldkirchen/Steinerleinbach/Deching/Ernsting. At Jandelsbrunn turn left and continue right. In Sonnen turn left onto the main road. Continue on Hauzenberger Straße and after approx. one kilometre turn left into Rastbüchlstraße and immediately right into Oberstein where you will reach Blutwurzhütte.
