The Cross-Country Area
In Schleching im Chiemgau there are about 20 km of skating trails and 25 km of classically groomed trails for cross-country skiers. Most of the cross-country ski runs are of easy to medium difficulty. If you still have little cross-country skiing experience and need support, you will find ski schools such as the Achental Nordic School on site.
In addition to several short and easy tours such as the Mettenham Round and the Dammloipe, the Andi-Birnbacher Loipe is with 8.5 km the longest and most demanding route. It leads via Schleching, Mühlau and Landerhausen to the Tiroler Achen and via Ettenhausen back to Schleching. Another highlight is the night trail at the Steinrückenlift in Ettenhausen, which is illuminated on Wednesdays and Fridays from 17.30 to 20.00 hours.
Furthermore there is the 31 km long Achentalloipe. This starts in Grassau and leads via Marquartstein through the valley of the Tiroler Achen to Schleching, Ettenhausen and back. The medium round is prepared for the classic and skating style.
