The Cross-Country Area
Around Schönau am Königssee you will find more than 20 km of perfectly groomed cross-country trails, both for classic and skating styles.
With 11 km the Königssee Loipe is the longest track. It starts at the Königssee car park, leads via Schwöb to the Königsseer Ache and back again. A part of the trail is artificially snowed in the area of the lake. It is also partly floodlit. The four cross-country ski runs in Schönau Watzmann, Hochkalter, Jenner and Untersberg are linked to each other and also have access to the bobsleigh and toboggan run at Königssee.

Interesting facts
- The cross-Country skiing area takes you to an elevation of 650 m.
- Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 104 cm at summit elevation and 44 cm at the base.
Getting Here
From Bad Reichenhall, take the B20 via Bischofswiesen and Berchtesgaden to Schönau am Königssee. For the cross-country trails at Königssee, the best place to park is the large Königssee car park. In Schönau you can park your car either at the Gasthaus Bodnerlehen on Oberschönauer Straße or at the Königsseer Straße car park.
