The Cross-Country Area
The Loipennetz Hämmerer Ebene/Silberattel near Steinach offers you more than 100 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. Depending on the snow conditions, the 13 cross-country ski runs are prepared daily for both classic cross-country skiing and skating and mostly run through the forest of the Fellberg area. Depending on the weather, the predominantly medium to demanding cross-country trails offer cross-country skiers a challenge or beautiful views of Steinach and the mountains of the Thuringian Forest and the Franconian Forest.
The Drei Buchen trail has its starting point at the car park at the Obelisk Goldgräberstadt at the entrance to Steinheid. The remaining trails start at the middle station of the Skiarena Silbersattel. Free parking is available in front of the Sportgasthof am Fellberg. The track branches out in front of the refuge Köhlersgrabenruh, where you can vary the direction of your tour. Stop for refreshments at the top and middle station of the Skiarena.

Getting Here
Coming from Nürnberg take the A73 to exit 8-Neustadt near Coburg. Then you follow the B4, the B89, the Steinacher Str. and the L1148 up to the road to the Silbersattel in Steinach. This leads you directly to the Silbersattel Skiarena.
