The Cross-Country Area
The cross-country area on Sognefjellet is located 1,400m/4,593ft above sea level. It is the only resort in Norway where cross-country training on natural snow is possible even in summer. Hence, it is very popular among the Norwegian cross-country elite. To ensure perfect winter-like conditions, the tracks are salted.
The summer ski centre's cross-country season lasts from May to August. According to snow conditions, between 5km/3.1mi and 15km/9.3mi of tracks are available. Especially towards the end of the season, fewer trails might be available.
The tracks are open from 8:00 to 14:30, and from 15:30 to 19:00. The break in between is used to groom the tracks.
