The Cross-Country Area
Over 30 kilometres of cross-country ski runs are prepared in winter around the town of Traunstein if there is sufficient snow. Fans of the classic as well as the skating style will get their money's worth.
The Tobi-Angerer-Loipe am Hochberg is certainly one of the most beautiful cross-country ski runs in the cross-country crazy Chiemgau region. The 13-kilometer course was designed in collaboration with two-time overall World Cup winner Tobi Angerer. Due to their altitude, cross-country skiers can expect not only snow reliability but also a breathtaking panorama of the Chiemgau mountains. On clear days you can see from there to the Chiemsee. The sunny circuit is prepared in skating and classic style and is suitable for both advanced and beginners. And if you're lucky, you'll also meet Tobi Angerer, who lives nearby and still regularly cross-country skis himself.
The route of the cross-country trail near Wolkersdorf is about 9 kilometres long. The slightly hilly circuit is prepared exclusively in the classic style. Also on this route you have great panoramic views of the Chiemgau mountains and in good weather you can also see the Kampenwand.
Two short cross-country trails are still located in the districts of Haslach (2.5 kilometres) and Kammer-Rettenbach (7 kilometres). Both are designed as round courses and are exclusively prepared for classic runners. There are no significant climbs and descents.
Interesting facts
- The highest point of the track is 775 m above sea level.
