The Cross-Country Area
The Winterberg cross-country skiing area is part of the Sauerland Nordic Sports Arena, which comprises a network of more than 500 kilometres of cross-country ski trails. Around Winterberg you will find about 50 km of cross-country trails, most of them of medium difficulty.
Bremberg cross-country skiing trails
At Bremberg in the southwest of Winterberg there are four medium-difficulty cross-country ski runs as well as the demanding Bremberg 5 with a total ascent of 257 metres, which can be combined with each other. There is also the cross-country stadium with a 1.1-kilometre-long lap, which can be covered with snow and illuminated. The cross-country ski runs at Bremberg are prepared for the classic style as well as for skating.
Kuhlenberg cross-country skiing trails and Rauher Bush
In the north of Winterberg the three Kuhlenberg trails and the Rauher Busch round start. With a length of 10.6 kilometres, the Kuhlenbergloipe 1 is the longest trail in Winterberg. With the exception of the easy Kuhlenbergloipe 3, the trails here belong to the medium difficulty category. The Rauher Busch and Kuhlenberg round cross-country ski runs, as well as their connecting and feeder cross-country ski runs, are only classically groomed.
Cross-country skiing school
Those who lack the necessary know-how can take advantage of the Winterberg cross-country skiing school. The programme regularly includes beginners' classic courses. Advanced classic and skating courses are also available on request. The meeting point of the cross-country skiing school is the large Bremberg car park. There is also a ski rental.
