The Hotel
The Schmelzhof is a family-run hotel. Three generations of the Strolz family take care of their guests’ needs and wishes. Perhaps that’s what makes the Schmelzhof so special – the personal touch, the relaxed cosiness, the friendliness, the heartfelt warmth. We like our guests. And our guests can feel that. Many of them have been coming to stay with us for years, even for decades, and have become good friends. But new guests too sense the unique Schmelzhof feeling as soon as they enter – a feeling of not simply having arrived, but of belonging.

Darkness descends over the mountains. Now it’s time for a relaxing bath amid soothing surroundings, soft music, for picking up a good book and snuggling into a cosy bed. What a day! Your host, Gitti Strolz, has designed the rooms with loving attention to detail so that you can enjoy your home-away-from-home to the full. With stylish interiors, elegant touches and beautiful pieces of artwork, our rooms are what dreams are made of.

Restaurant & Fine Dining
From homemade apricot jam using fruit from Austria’s Wachau region, to fresh milk and yoghurt directly from local farmers, to warm, crusty rolls from the village baker – even at breakfast, we offer our guests only the best and the quality of our products takes top priority -a fact which our guests appreciate.
In the evening our guests have the choice of three multiple-course menus, with fish, meat or vegetarian dishes. Our head chef and his team combine their skills and innovative ideas to create mouth-watering culinary delights. The ingredients, including herbs grown in grandmother’s own herb garden, are all hand-selected. At the Schmelzhof we leave nothing to chance.
Spa & Wellness
Discover our Schmelzhof Spa (400 m2) with Finnish sauna, sanarium, brine steam bath and infrared cubicle. In the two massage treatment rooms Liam and Silvester soothe you into a state of deep relaxation. The spa area also includes a tranquillity room with comfortable loungers and another room for chatting, enjoying a cup of tea or a glass of fresh fruit juice, or simply reading the newspaper.

For our cross-country skiers and walkers there is the optimal entrance to the Winter Wonderland in the direction of Zug directly at the hotel.

The Schmelzhof is a veritable paradise for children. The "Villa Kunterbunt", located on our ground floor, the playroom offers everything kids could ever wish for. Boasting an abundance of toys, games and books, there’s something for everyone. Our childminder offers caring, attentive supervision of our younger guests offering you peace of mind so that you can enjoy your holiday to the full.
Getting here
By car:
The Hotel Schmelzhof is easy to reach by car. Our location plan, shows an overview of how to get here. During the winter months, please check the up-to-date road conditions and ensure that your car is equipped appropriately. At times snow chains are compulsory.
By rail:
The train station in Langen am Arlberg is easy to reach whether you’re coming from the direction of Innsbruck, Zurich or Lindau. From there you can continue your journey using the “Postbus” public bus.
By airplane:
The closest international airports are Altenrhein (100 km), Innsbruck (120 km), Memmingen (170 km), Zurich (200 km) and Munich (330 km).
