The Ski Resort
The Airolo - Pesciüm slopes extend for over 30 kilometers at an altitude ranging from 1175 to 2250 m.a.s.l., attracting all lovers of winter sports: skiers, snowboarders and ski tourers. In fact, our region offers 3 types of slopes, satisfying the needs of beginners, those at an intermediate level, and experts; on top of that we have a snowpark and the really fun "Big Air Bag" for fans of jumps and acrobatics. For lovers of walking in snowshoes, three interesting routes have been designed to allow you to take in the beauty of the snow-covered landscape in complete tranquility. Last but not least, you can train and learn how to deal with sudden critical situations such as avalanches at our Avalanche Training Center.
The Airolo ski station also hosts many events and sports competitions such as the European Freestyle Cup, the Grand Prix Migros, skiing and snowshoe walks in the moonlight, ski tests, as well as days dedicated to wheelchair users, and much more. We recommend following our blog and Events section so you can be kept up-to-date about everything.
As far as competitive skiing is concerned, the Airolo-Pesciüm station boasts several alpine and freestyle ski champions who first started skiing in this region: Doris de Agostini, Michela Figini, Lara Gut, Katrin Müller and Deborah Scanzio.

Dining and Restaurants
Reachable from Airolo in just 7 minutes by cable car, La Stüa is located in the center of the area and is the ideal place for those who want to stop for a refreshing break. La Stüa has 80 seats inside and 50 on the terrace, and offers typical regional dishes that a member of the staff can recommend at best.
This restaurant is also perfect for those who want to enjoy a breathtaking view: in just a few minutes by cable car, the landscape of Pesciüm changes completely from that of Airolo! A stone's throw away, there is also a viewpoint from which you can admire the Gotthard.
Starting from winter 2019, La Stüa is managed by Valbianca Gastro Sagl, in reorganized spaces and in a new guise. The kitchen, directed by Alberto Bottinelli and Martina Morelli, offers a cuisine based on local products processed in a simple and accurate way, so that you can taste the flavors of the culinary tradition of the mountains. Martina's speciality, the "pollo al cestello", is absolutely worth tasting, and is also available with a lactose-free and gluten-free sauce.
On sunny days you can also enjoy a glass of wine or an aperitif on the new and modern outdoor terrace.
In Airolo-Pesciüm you will find two other restaurants:
"La Sala", which is the ideal restaurant for those who want to make a short stop before putting their skis back on and returning to the slopes of Airolo-Pesciüm.
In this self-service restaurant you will find a rich salad buffet, pasta corner, as well as a varied daily menu and typical dishes.
U Châlet: a typical mountain Châlet, which is an ideal restaurant for those looking for a more cozy place and a more relaxed atmosphere to take a break from physical activity. The owner's hospitality is always excellent, the environment is very friendly, and the dishes are simple and honest. You can get to the restaurant in 30 minutes on foot in summer and by going down from Sasso della Boggia in winter.
Being on the opposite side of Pesciüm, the sun's rays beat down during the hottest hours, which makes it an even more attractive destination for those who stop by.
