The Ski Resort
At the Altenberg ski lift with the 'Raupennesthang' downhill run, winter sports enthusiasts of all abilities can enjoy the pleasures of winter sports to the full. For beginners there is a magic carpet available next to which the first tracks can be pulled into the snow. The local ski school actively supports beginners with their first turns.
Snowboarders will also find a halfpipe in Altenberg that has been specially shaped for them. Good technical equipment such as snow-making machines complete the good service of the ski lift Altenberg.
Thanks to the floodlight system, skiing is possible until 10 pm. Only on Sundays the lifts close already at 18 o'clock.

The Rodelklause provides for the physical well-being. Whether you are a skier, tobogganist, cross-country skier or walker, here you can find inexpensive meals and fresh drinks. After a successful day in the snow, coffee and cake are also waiting here. The Rodelklause is open on weekends and during holidays. During the week there is a kiosk directly at the ski lift.

Activities
If you've had enough of skiing and snowboarding, the Altenberg region offers 70 kilometres of prepared cross-country ski runs and ski hiking trails. There are also guided snowshoe hikes. Right next to the ski slope in Altenberg a 120 meter long toboggan run is waiting for you. Further possibilities for sledging can be found on the 1,100 m long natural toboggan run in Rehefeld and the toboggan slope in Schellerhau.
A visit to the DKB Eiskanal is also worthwhile. The racing sledge and bobsleigh run cannot simply be visited. Guided tours are offered every Tuesday, visitors can watch the pros training or race down the Eiskanal in a 4-man racing bobsled themselves. Ice tubing is also possible here.
The Gründelstadion ice rink is located in Geising, only four kilometres away. Whether skating, ice hockey or curling, it won't be boring here. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can enjoy the winter landscape on the carriage and sleigh rides.

Getting here
Altenberg is located south of Dresden near the Czech border. The easiest way to reach the ski lift is via the B 170, which leads directly from Dresden to Altenberg. The ski slope is located directly in the village.
