The Ski Resort
One of the most scenic ski resorts in the region is located at Lake Bannoye near Magnitogorsk. The lake is picturesquely situated and surrounded by mountains. Although these are not too high, they offer good conditions for winter sports fans. The skiing season here is relatively long and lasts from November to May. The skiing area is internationally known for its Snowboard World Cup. Here you can find alpine snowboard competitions.
There is an 8-seater gondola and two t-bar lifts that open up the almost 10 km of slopes. The longest descent is 2.5 kilometres long. There are no black slopes for professionals here, but the ski area can score with a Halfpipe. The ski area is open until late in the evening due to the floodlight facilities. Only Mondays are always completely closed!
Ski rental and ski school as well as toboggan run and ice skating rink are available. Not to be missed is the mountain restaurant, open all year, at the highest point in the ski area (942m), directly at the top station of the gondola lift. Great fun are the tours with husky sleds and kart rides on the snow.
