The Ski Resort
In the skiing paradise Breitenberg-Hochalpe the alpine winter sportsman finds well prepared slopes of all degrees of difficulty between 1,200 and 1,600 metres of altitude. A modern four-seater chair lift (Hochalpbahn), two T-bar lifts and a mini-lift open up the natural snow area in the East Allgäu. The Breitenberg cable car takes you from the valley directly to the skiing area.
The six-kilometre-long ski route to the valley station is a special highlight and requires good physical condition and skiing experience. If you don't yet feel completely confident on skis or snowboard, you are in good hands at one of the four local ski schools. The ski area is part of the "Vitales Land" ski alliance, which covers several ski areas in the Allgäu and neighbouring Tyrol. With the KönigsCard you can even ski for free in the whole area - from two nights' stay three hours of fun on the slopes in the Allgäu are included!

On Mountain Dining
Fresh mountain air in combination with extensive fun on the slopes or tobogganing runs makes you hungry. Fortunately, there are several huts in the Breitenberg ski area that invite you to stop for a bite to eat. At the top station of the Breitenbergbahn you can strengthen yourself with hearty, local food in the cosy restaurant of the Berghaus Allgäu. On the sun terrace of the Hochalphütte, which is located in the immediate vicinity, you can enjoy a well-deserved break.
The Ostlerhütte offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Pfrontner Valley as well as the Allgäu, Tyrolean and Swiss mountains. However, the mountain inn is located at an altitude of 1,836 metres and can therefore not be reached directly from the ski area but requires an ascent of about 30 minutes from the top station of the Hochalpbahn.

Activities
If you like to treat yourself to a day off the ski slopes, but can't get enough of the beautiful alpine landscape, you should try ski touring in the Pfrontner mountains. On one of the numerous tours you will get to know the landscape from a completely different side. However, there are special guidelines to be observed here to avoid conflicts between tourers and alpine skiers. A special delicacy on the Breitenberg is the natural toboggan run, which is the longest in Allgäu with its six kilometres. From the Hochalp top station it goes rapidly down into the Engetal via the Ostler forest path. A bus brings the tobogganists back to the base station of the Breitenbergbahn.
A nice selection of different trails makes the region around Pfronten also popular with cross-country skiing fans. For all those who would like to spend their winter holidays in a more contemplative way, idyllic winter hiking trails invite you to take a walk.
Après-Ski and Nightlife
For après ski you meet in the Bistro BBB-Treff – right at the base station of the Breitenbergbahn. In the neighbouring skiing area Pfronten-Steinach you can end a successful skiing day in the rustic Scheiber-Alm or the ski hut Wanger.
