"Archadia Chutes" the perfect play ground for eperts!
New Zealand has long ago gained its reputation with free riders and powder cracks. Also Cardrona features some of the terrain that is only for those that are strong of lung and courage! Pure free ride fun is offered on steeps like “Irish Pipes”, “Powder Keg” or “Secret Chute”. Especially the “Eagle Rock” next to the “Captain’s Quad” we found to be quite challenging. This slope attains up to 45° of inclination and should only be skied when there is little danger of avalanches. With about 20 % of difficult runs (earmarked black) Cordrona specialises less on expert skiers than for example Mt. Hutt in Canterbury or Treble Cone. The majority of the ski resort can also be skied by less experiences skiers. When our test team visited Cardrona a giant slalom track was available temporarily however a permanent racing track is missing.
