Experienced skiers will surely be satisfied by the dazzling array of intermediate slopes (46km) and the soaring mountain scenery surrounding them. Very recommendable for intermediate skiers is the very long descent (8km) from Fulseck right into the Dorfgasteiner valley. For those who love to carve down trails should ski the really broad slopes “Kühhageralmabfahrt” at Dorfgastein or the “Hochbrandabfahrt” and “Harbachabfahrt at Großarl. Winter athletes who like powder skiing should try the trail at the lift facility Fulseck which offers, in addition to large amounts of natural snow, a panoramic mountain view. Furthermore you will never have to wait long at the lifts due to the total uphill capacity of 29.058 people per hour.
Many intermediate slopes
Of course expert skiers will also find terrain that fits their fancy. Winter sport enthusiasts who love challenge can ski 15km of difficult terrain including steeps. The best descents for experts are the “Heimalmabfahrt” at Dorfgastein or the “Lärchenhangabfahrt” at Großarl. Off piste enthusiasts will also enjoy a skiing excursion at Gastein due to the ungroomed terrain at the mountain station of the lift facility “Gipfelbahn Fulseck”. Furthermore a racing slope and a mogul slope are available. These should only be tackled by very skilled skiers because of its enormous length and difficulty.
