The Ski Resort
The most southern ski mountain in the Villach region has been a popular destination for winter and summer excursions since the 1930s. Today, the ski area at Dreiländereck mountain not far from Arnoldstein is also enjoying more and more Italian guests, as the ski area is close to the motorway. Due to the advantageous location, winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to guaranteed snow and sunny slopes between Austria, Italy and Slovenia.
The ski area offers to the 17 kilometres of groomed slopes, spread over all levels of difficulty. A rope lift, six drag lifts and a chair lift transport the skiers up the mountain. Freestylers can enjoy the Funpark. For all new skiers and snowboarders there is a ski school on site.
Interesting facts
- The vertical drop from summit to base is 920 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Austria is 720 m. The ski resort takes you to an elevation of 1,600 m.
- Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 88 cm at summit elevation and 44 cm at the base.

On Mountain Dining
Directly next to the mountain station of the Dreiländereck jet is the mountain restaurant "Dreiländereck" with a large sun terrace. The magnificent view from the large sun terrace invites you to linger here. Typical Austrian delicacies such as Kasnocken and Apfelstrudel are served up.

Advanced skiers should not miss the black marked descent number 3 from Hahnenwipfel.
Activities
If you want a change from skiing, you can enjoy the mountain on two runners on an 8.4 km long natural toboggan run or the winter landscape on cross-country skis glide through.

By car
From the north via Salzburg and the A10 Tauernautobahn (the entire A10 is a four-lane motorway with two tunnels). Coming from the east via Vienna and Graz on the A2 Südautobahn you reach the border triangle.
With public transport
Arnoldstein has its own train station. From there you can reach the valley station by taxi, the distance is about 3 km.
By plane
The nearest airport is Klagenfurt Airport. By rental car or taxi, you then travel in the direction of Italy at the Villach motorway junction until you reach the Arnoldstein exit. Continue along the main road Arnoldstein and follow the sign for Bergbahnen.
