The Ski Resort
The summer ski area Fonna Glacier Resort is located about 100 kilometres east of the Norwegian city of Bergen. You can usually ski here from April to October. A T-bar lift takes you up to the Folgefonna Glacier, where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the glacier and the Hardanger Fjord – on a clear day even as far as the North Sea.
Two red slopes start at 1450 metres. For beginners, there is also a blue and a green run. Fonna is also known for its large snow park, which is one of the best summer freestyle parks in the world. If you want to use the entire fun park, you should come between May and July, because from August onwards, only part of the park is built.
