The Ski Resort
Founded by a group of ski enthusiasts from Tokyo over 50 years ago, Ishiuchi Maruyama has long grown into a well-known ski and snowboard resort. A large selection of accommodations and restaurants provide enough possibilites even for guests staying multiple nights.
The area offers great ski runs for beginners, advanced skiers and real experts. Guests have the opportunity of exploring Ishiuchi Maruyama, GALA Yuzawa and Yuzawa Kogen Resort with a single lift pass. Gala Yuzawa is large and rather commercial, while Ishiuchi Maruyama is more traditionally-oriented. The good train connection to Tokyo makes all three resorts very popular weekend destinations.
Ishiuchi Maruyama is also known for its nightskiing opportunities. Up to seven lifts take skiers and snowboarders up to the night runs every weekend. Under the floodlights, skiing becomes a great adventure even at nighttime.
