The Ski Resort
The 2-seater chairlift in Todtnau is 900 metres long and takes skiers, snowboarders and tobogganists to the Hasenhorn mountain station at 1,026 metres. Not only the Hasenhorn Coaster starts there, which is open all year round, but also a groomed toboggan run. For skiers and snowboarders there is a 1 km long piste available, but it is not groomed. Therefore, it is classified as moderately severe.
Interesting facts
- The vertical drop from summit to base is 364 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Germany is 214 m. Most runs are therefore relatively long. The high point of the ski resort is located at an elevation of 1,026 m.
- Snow coverage is usually best during December, offering an average snow depth of 38 cm at summit elevation and 18 cm at the base.
On Mountain Dining
The Berggasthaus Hasenhorn takes care of your physical well-being. This is located next to the top station of the chairlift and offers delicious food and a great view, which you can enjoy from the sun terrace.
Getting here
Todtnau lies about 30 kilometres south of Freiburg im Breisgau. Via the B 31, you first reach Kirchzarten, where you turn right towards Oberried. Follow the L126 to Todtnau, turn left onto the B317 and after 500m turn right to the cable car. There are signposted parking spaces on Brandenbergerstraße.
