The Ski Resort
The Hauereck ski area in Styria offers great skiing fun especially for families with children. But also for more experienced skiers the ski resort is a great alternative to the big but often expensive destinations.
All in all there are 5 km of slopes in Hauereck - St. Kathrein am Hauenstein available for skiing and snowboarding. 3 ski lifts take you up to 1305 meters.
The little visitors can learn to ski or snowboard in the children's area on the slope with a magic carpet and a platter lift.

- The vertical drop from summit to base is 300 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Austria is 720 m. Runs and slopes are therefore relatively short. The high point of the ski resort is located at an elevation of 1,300 m.
- Average snow depth during the season is 44 cm at summit elevation and 34 cm at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during February, offering an average snow depth of 47 cm at summit elevation and 36 cm at the base.

Coming from Vienna, follow the Süd Autobahn/E59 for about 60 kilometers and then use one of the right lanes to take the S6 exit in the direction of Bruck a. d. Mur/Neunkirchen. Follow the S6 to the Krieglach exit and take the third exit at the traffic circle onto the B72. Continue on the B72 until you reach St. Kathrein Hauenstein and turn left in the village to drive in the direction of Hauereck.
