The Ski Resort
In the winter sports centre at mount Hohenbogen, six kilometres of pistes invite you to enjoy skiing. With two kilometres of easy and three kilometres of medium-difficulty runs as well as one difficult run, Hohenbogen offers piste fun for all levels of ability. Optimum technical snow-making means that skiers and snowboarders will find the perfect base. The three lifts take winter sports enthusiasts up to the summit of the Hohenbogen, which lies at an altitude of 1,079 metres. From there, winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding mountains (Arber, Osser, Kaitersberg and Voithenberg). There is also a ski route over the Schönblick slope.
Beginners feel particularly comfortable in the area between the middle and valley stations. Here you will find exclusively blue-marked slopes, which provide a gentle introduction to the pleasures of winter sports. At the valley station there is also the children's area with ski carousel and magic carpet. The little skiers are supported by the professional instructors of the two local ski and snowboard schools.
Even after dusk the Hohenbogen invites you to go skiing: Almost the whole mountain is illuminated with floodlights and almost all slopes are open. Floodlight operation is on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 19 to 22 o'clock.

On Mountain Dining
Three huts provide for the physical well-being in the skiing area. The Berghaus Hohenbogen is located directly at the mountain station. On the new sun terrace you can enjoy the fantastic panorama with delicious home-made food. Haus Schönblick spoils its guests with home-style cooking. There is also a terrace with a wonderful view. The two huts also offer overnight accommodation. At the valley station, the Liftstüberl awaits winter sports enthusiasts. Here one is spoiled with regional delicacies.
Must-Ski Runs
Advanced skiers should weave their way down the red marked slope on the Sonnenhang slope (no. 1). It starts at the top of the Hohenbogen and offers a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. For experts, of course, the only black-marked run in the ski area (No. 2), which also starts at the top station, is a must.

Activities
After skiing you can go for a round of ice skating or a winter hike. About 50 kilometres of winter hiking trails are waiting to be explored. Cross-country skiers will find an extensive and well-prepared network of trails around the Neukirchen district of Neurittsteig, which leads through the snowy winter landscape.
The illuminated winter toboggan run, which is the longest in the Bavarian Forest, promises rapid pleasure. You can whizz down through the snow-covered winter forest from the middle station down to the valley for over 700 metres. If you don't want to go quite so fast, you can also use the forest path for tobogganing. This is a little longer, less steep and is ideal for families with small children.
