The Ski Resort
In Pertisau on the south-western shore of Lake Achensee lies the Karwendel mountain railway. Here at Zwölferkopf, 12 kilometres of pistes await you. With the Karwendel cable car you start into the skiing area. Beginners and re-starters have the opportunity to make their first turns on the practice slopes at the T-bar lift Jochlift and the T-bar lift Gratlift. More experienced skiers take the wide and sunny Zwölferkopf run to ski down to the valley station. The Hubertus run leads from the Gratlift on the east side of the Zwölferkopf to the valley station. This slope is a little more demanding and offers a wonderful view of Lake Achensee.
In the Achensee ski region you have a total of 53 km of slopes in five ski areas at your disposal. In addition to the Karwendel mountain railway in Pertisau, the Christlum lifts in Achenkirch, the Rofan cable car Maurach and the lifts in Steinberg and Wiesing are also part of the region.
