The Ski Resort
La Parva is located about 31 miles (50 km) northeast of Santiago, the Chilean capital, in the middle ridge of a circuit like Three Valleys/Tres Valles which includes El Colorado and Valle Nevado. Getting only few international visitors, La Parva seems to be more of an exclusive private ski club - addressing Santiago's wealthy families.
The ski resort is of moderate size boasting plenty of vertical yet fully treeless terrain. 40 runs and 15 ski lifts make for great skiing and days on the slopes. While 15% of the skiable terrain are designated for beginners and 15% for intermediates, respectively, 43% of the area are designated red runs and a whopping 27% are designated black diamonds.
What's more is there are about 9.000 beds for guests available. A great ski and snowboard school with 80 instructors is offered for skiers and riders of all levels and age groups. Classes take place in Spanish, Portuguese, English and French. For those who are worried about their kids learning how to ski, here's breaking news: La Parva features a mini ski school for kids aged 6 to 12. Stores and ski rentals make for a nice stay guaranteeing you will get each and every equipment needed. A hospital, supermarket, 5 restaurants, a bar, a fitness center and ATM top the "having a blast vacationing at La Parva" off.
