Located in the Rear Bavarian Forest, a true insiders tip for families, novices, and beginners as well as day-trippers, who simply like to go skiing again for a couple of hours, awaits you. It goes without saying that the 6 km of slopes available may not provide enough variety for intermediate and expert skiers. However, they head to the ski resort Mitterdorf in Mitterfirmiansreut either way to glide down the snowy slopes at Kießlingerhang or Almberg - if only for a few hours. A spontaneous trip to the resort certainly is recommendable considering the affordable day passes, although its ski lift system has gotten a bit long in the tooth.
The main target market being families with kids will be thrilled about both the extensive kids zones within the resort and the manageable ski resort itself.
However, freeriders and freestylers will only to some extent “hit pay dirt“, while apres ski fans are practically left out in the cold due to a lack of demand and a sparse number of spots.
All things considered, Mitterdorf is not exactly the ski mecca of this continent. Anyway, it is a great place for occasional skiers and families with young children, and it definitely is our Bavarian Forest insiders tip.
