The Ski Resort
The Mt Mawson ski resort, run by the region's ski clubs, is located in Mount Field National Park, about 1.5 hours drive from the town of Hobart in southern Tasmania. Located at 1,250 meters, the resort is open on weekends and during school holidays from mid-July to mid-September. Three rope tows are available for skiers: Mawson, University and Rodway. The Lift Rodway is located at the foot of the Tarn Shelf and is suitable for advanced riders. There is also a small rope tow for beginners.
