If you have a look at the trail map of the ski resort Nassfeld you can see immediately that for the most part the ski resort features intermediate level terrain (marked red). These slopes are rather challenging and fit the demands of beginners only to a lesser extent. You really need a little bit of experience and practice in alpine skiing if you want to tap the whole potential of the ski resort embedded between the Gamitzenberg (1951 m) and the Tröpolacher Alm (1658 m).
Beautiful blue runs can be found, for example, on piste 2 at the Watschinger Alm. If you want to take the very first steps on skis or on snowboard we recommend the two practice areas at the top of the pass (Nassfeld practice meadow) and at the intermediate station between sections II and III of the Millenium Express at the Tressdorfer Alm practice meadow. These are the perfect places to improve your skiing or boarding skills.
However, if you want to ski the entire ski arena, you should have sufficient skills. Many of the blue slopes are only accessible via red runs. We also advise beginners not to ski the Carnia run (n°80) down to the valley. This is very steep and demanding, especially in the final section. Beginners should rather take the Millennium Express. This takes skiers comfortably and above all safely back down to the valley.
