The Ski Resort
The Oberreifenberg ski lift is located near the youth hostel in Schmitten-Oberreifenberg. The small skiing area in the Taunus lies at an altitude of between 680 and 730 metres on the western slope of the Großer Feldberg and offers a downhill run of around 500 metres. To get to the starting point of the slope, winter sports enthusiasts take the oldest and highest ski lift in the Taunus. The lift is divided into two sections. It is a rope lift with tow bars and a low rope guide.
The opening hours of the ski lift depend on the weather conditions. When snow conditions are good, the lift is open on weekends. However, special opening hours are also possible. You can find out if the lift is open directly on the ski area's website (in German).
Sledders will find a separate toboggan run next to the ski slope.

Getting here
Oberreifenberg is located about one hour northwest of Frankfurt am Main. Leave the A5 at the Bad Homburger Kreuz junction and take the A661 towards Oberursel. From Oberursel you continue to Schmitten. From there it is about 6 kilometers to Oberreifenberg. The ski lift is located just outside of town at the youth hostel and the Weilquelle Nature Park Hotel.
