The Ski Resort
The 22-kilometre ski area Pillersee extends around the Buchensteinwand. The family-friendly winter sports area has the right piste for every skier and snowboarder and touring skiers will also find an extensive offer.
From the valley station, nine lifts take winter sports enthusiasts up to the 1,456-metre-high Buchensteinwand, the highest point in the ski area. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the Kitzbühel Alps from the viewing platform at the Jakobskreuz before descending into the valley again.
In the base area especially beginners feel at home, because here you can practice your first turns in peace and quiet. The Hochleiten practice lift, which opens up short blue marked slopes, is the ideal starting point.
The higher altitudes of the ski area are the terrain for advanced skiers and experts. There are nine kilometres of red marked and three kilometres of black marked runs to choose from. Anyone who likes it fast can measure their speed at the Speedtrap and on the race track at the Kröpfl T-bar lift and set their personal record.
Children are in good hands in the Pletzi-Bär Park at the base station of the Buchensteinwand. Learning the right skiing technique is all about fun and games. The mascot Pletzi bear is always there, of course. A magic carpet ensures the comfortable transport of the kids.
