As the other categories have already shown, Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn has a lot to offer in just about every respect. The offering for children and families in the ski area is no exception. There are designated children's areas throughout the Skicircus, and some ski schools even have their very own dedicated nursery slopes for youngsters. And there’s certainly no shortage of ski schools either. In total, nine ski schools are distributed across the four ski resorts, employing some 250 ski instructors each winter.
Leo’s & Krallis Kinderland in Leogang
The largest children’s area is without doubt Leo’s Kinderland by the valley station in Leogang. Its positioning allows visitors to go directly to the children’s area from the hotel. This is a serious advantage! Five magic carpet lifts are on hand to carry the little ones up the hill here. In addition, there is also a ski carousel, a castle and an obstacle course to explore. Thanks to the excellent snowmaking facilities, the 1.5 ha children’s area usually operates well into the spring. If you want to progress slightly further up the hill in Leogang, there are a couple of straightforward blue runs around the Asitz which are suitable for newcomers. Wellnesshotel Krallerhof even boasts its own children’s area called Krallis Kinderland. The Altenberger Ski School operates two surface lifts here.
Hinterglemm and Fieberbrunn also offer kids’ parks
The options for kids in Saalbach and Hinterglemm are slightly less wide-ranging but nevertheless good. The most notable area here is Snowly Land on the edge of Hinterglemm, a nursery zone complete with magic carpet lifts, children’s lifts and a ski carousel. Fieberbrunn, meanwhile, has Tatziland and Bobo’s Kinderclub.
An interesting offer to note for families – every Saturday, ski passes for children and young people between the ages of 6 and 19 cost only €10.
A wide range of blue-rated runs
And to ensure that the kids don’t get bored any time soon, there is a huge selection of blue-rated trails (totalling 140 km) to choose from, perfect for honing their skills further. Kids also love the ski area’s fun snow trails. However, the vast size of the ski area could also be considered a disadvantage for families with small children, making it a little bit more difficult to find your bearings. We therefore recommend that families stay in the Leogang area.
The offering for families is rounded out by two floodlit sled runs on the Asitz in Leogang and on the Reiterkogel in Hinterglemm as well as Timoks Almcoaster in Fieberbrunn.
