The Ski Resort
The Hohenstein ski lifts are idyllically situated below the Hohenstein castle, some 45 kilometres northeast of Nuremberg. Families with children feel particularly at home here. The easy 400 meter long descent is ideal for beginners and less experienced skiers. Winter sports enthusiasts can try their first turns on the skis or toboggan down the slope next to the lifts without having to hurry. Ski and snowboard courses are organised on request.
The ski lifts are in operation from Monday to Friday from 1 pm to 7 pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 am to 7 pm. When dusk falls, a floodlight system illuminates the runway.
On Mountain Dining
The Hohensteiner Hof attracts winter sports enthusiasts from Wednesday to Sunday with original Hohensteiner giant wind bags. The specialities are, for example, filled with vanilla ice cream or hot sour cherries and cream and are served fresh from the oven. With these rewards, the effort on the piste is quickly forgotten!
