The Ski Resort
The Rothaus ski lift is located in Brünlisbach in the Black Forest. The drag lift is perfect for beginners and those returning to skiing. The 700 meter long, blue marked descent is especially wide and offers enough space for small and big winter sports enthusiasts.
At the middle station of the lift there is a kiosk that offers snacks and drinks. The Rothaus ski lift operates on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and during the week from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. During the holidays it is open from 10 to 17 o'clock.
Directly at the lift there is also a 200 meter long toboggan run. Sledges can be hired at the tourist information in Rothaus or at the Behringer sports shop in Schluchsee.
Interesting facts
- It is among the 10 most family-friendly ski Resorts in Baden-Württemberg.
- The vertical drop from summit to base is 50 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Germany is 214 m. Runs and slopes are therefore relatively short. The high point of the ski resort is located at an elevation of 1,000 m.
- The day pass at Skilift Rothaus is €11 making it one of the 10 cheapest ski Resorts in Baden-Württemberg.

Activities
The Rothaus district also has a lot to offer away from the pistes. The signposted Rothaus snowshoe trail starts at the "Hüsli" local history museum and leads past snow-covered trees to the Schluchsee lake.
The highest brewery in Germany is located in Grafenhausen, just a few minutes' drive from the lift. The state brewery Rothaus became famous above all for its cult beer "Tannenzäpfle".
Getting here
From Freiburg you can reach the ski lift Rothaus in about one hour. Follow the B31 to Oberhöllsteig and change there to the B500, which you follow to Schluchsee. The L170 runs from the eastern shore of the lake to the Rothaus ski lift.
The train runs from Freiburg main station to Titisee. Here you take the bus to Seebrugg and then to the family holiday farm Grafenhausen. From there it is a ten minute walk to the lift.
