The Ski Resort
The two ski lifts on the Sommerberg in Bad Wildbad are operated by the Wildbad Ski Guild. The large drag lift is 350 metres long and overcomes 100 metres in altitude. The shorter plate lift is particularly suitable for beginners. The descent is about 800 meters long and marked blue. On weekends, ski courses are offered if there is enough snow. During the week, the lifts do not open until 2 p.m., but on Saturdays and Sundays the lifts already open at 10 a.m..
The ski hut is located directly on the ski slope and provides hungry skiers with regional specialities and hut vespers. Especially on cold days, a place at the tiled stove is just the right thing to warm up again.
Activities
After skiing, you can discover the nearby Black Forest treetop trail all year round. The 1250 metre long path meanders up to 20 metres above the forest floor and ends in a spectacular viewing platform with a giant slide.
For those who prefer it a little quieter, there are two thermal baths in Bad Wildbad. Families with smaller children are in good hands at the Vital Therme. Admission from the age of 12 is available to bathers in the Palais Thermal with its large bathing and sauna complex.
Getting here
From Pforzheim take the B294 towards Bald Wildbad. In Calmbach, take the first exit from the main road at the roundabout and follow the road to Bad Wildbad. There it goes over the Blöcherstraße up the Sommerberg to the valley station of the ski lifts.
