St. Johann features a total of 60 km of skiable terrain thus the ski resort can’t be counted among the larger resorts in Tyrol. However 28 km of intermediate terrain will guarantee that experienced skiers and riders can spend a fun day on the slopes. If you take the gondola to the most central and highest point of the Harschbichl on 1700m above sea level you can descend the mountain on predominantly intermediate level terrain. Especially recommendable are the 3a and 4a and b trails by the Eichenhof 2 tow lift, the terrain is versatile and the width of the slopes make it an ideal carving spot.
But not only the intermediate terrain is worthy of praise there are several easy trails which are not to be looked down upon. The 1d trail is among the longest and widest trails in the resort and will probably give your thighs and calfs a good workout if you put some pressure on your edges! If the easy and intermediate trails aren’t challenging enough check out the black 7a trail.
Expert skiers and riders will probably prefer Penzing as the more demanding terrain is located there. Speedy and long descents are the attractions on this side of the mountain. A real highlight is the 5 km long black (difficult) Sauregg FIS-Trail which requires the skiers and riders to overcome 750m in altitude.
