Slopes are not too demanding for novice skiers.
We recommend all skiers who haven`t had much practice in alpine skiing not to access the ski resort at the base station in St. Margarethen but rather at the mountain pass leading to Carinthia. As several easy slopes and beginners areas are located there and one can therefore enjoy an easy, convenient introduction to alpine skiing. Once the skiing or boarding skills have been improved try one of the intermediate level runs leading down from the Tschaneck mountain (2030 m). One of the best slopes for beginners is the so-called “Königswiese” slope (number 2, if you have a look at the trail map). Unfortunately there are many t-bar lifts at the ski resort. Hence practice in the usage of tow lift facilities is recommendable.
