The Ski Resort
The Holzelfingen winter sports arena is a family-friendly skiing area in the Swabian Alb. Winter sports enthusiasts will find a total of 3.5 kilometres of slopes here, which are divided relatively evenly into easy to moderately difficult runs. The longest run is up to 900 metres long. The 6 slopes stretch between the two Heutal ski lifts and the two Salach ski lifts. Fun park elements provide variety.
For the young skiers there is also Fridolin's Adventure Land. A children's lift, magic waves, a carousel and an adventure tunnel ensure lots of fun for the little ones as they make their first turns in the snow. There is also a winter playground.
Interesting facts
- The vertical drop from summit to base is 79 m. The average difference in altitude between base and summit of Ski Resorts in Germany is 214 m. Runs and slopes are therefore relatively short. The ski resort takes you to an elevation of 801 m.
- Average snow depth during the season is 3 cm at summit elevation and 2 cm at base elevation. Snow coverage is usually best during January, offering an average snow depth of 6 cm at summit elevation and 3 cm at the base.
- Wintersport-Arena Holzelfingen features 23 sunny days on average per season. The average for all ski Resorts in Germany is 20 sunny days. January is the sunniest month with an average of 10 sunny days.

On Mountain Dining
There are two ski huts to choose from for a break. The Heutal Hütte awaits you at the Heutal lifts, while the Herz'l Alm invites you to take a break at the Salach lifts. Those who want to end the ski day with music will also find an après-ski bar at the Herz'l Alm.
Nightskiing
The slopes in the winter sports arena can be illuminated. The lifts are open daily until 9.30 pm.

Activities
However, visitors can do more than just ski in the winter sports arena. In addition to the Salach lifts, toboggan fans will also find a toboggan run that can be lit up like the ski slopes. Those who don't have their own toboggan can rent snowtubes at the Herz'l Alm.
There is also an offer for cross-country skiers. The Lichtensteinloipe is 16 kilometres long and can be used in classic style as well as for skating. Of course, the snow-covered landscape can also be easily explored on foot. The ski area is the starting point for numerous hikes. The circular hike around the winter sports arena takes about an hour.
Another attraction is the Arena-Zügle, which shuttles between the Heutal Hütte via Fridolins Abenteuerland to the Herz'l Alm on weekends, public holidays and during the holidays.

Getting here
The Holzelfingen winter sports arena is located just under 30 kilometres south-east of Reutlingen. From there, take the B313 to Lichtenstein. In the centre of Lichtenstein, turn left onto Holzelfinger Straße and follow it to Holzelfingen. Parking in the ski area is available at the Heutal lifts as well as at the Salach lifts. Another parking lot is located at Fridolins Abenteuerland.
