The Zwölferhorn in St. Gilgen am Wolfgangsee is a popular mountain for excursions in the Salzburger Land. There are no groomed pistes here, instead the Zwölferhorn is popular with backcountry ski tourers and freeriders.

Since October 2020, a new gondola lift brings visitors to the top of the Zwölferhorn. Like its predecessor, the new lift takes guests in red and yellow cabins up to the summit, where the panorama restaurant "Das Zwölfer" is also located. The new 8-seater gondola lift is barrier-free and takes 11 minutes to reach the top of the mountain, in which you can enjoy a great view of the lakes of the Salzkammergut.

Activities

Away from the slopes, the area around Lake Wolfgang is not boring, either. The free ice-skating rink in the Seepark in St. Gilgen in front of the music pavilion offers icy fun on 360 square meters. At the Hotel Försterhof in Ried there is also an indoor ice rink for all those who prefer curling to ice skating.

Tobogganing fun is available at Gasthof Kleefeld. The idyllic ascent to the 1.5 km long natural toboggan run is an experience in itself. Romance instead of action offers a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered winter landscape. A good view of the panorama can be seen from Panorama-Rundweg at Zwölferhorn.
