Snow sports have become increasingly popular in China. The Middle Kingdom is home to a total of around 50 ski resorts. Most of them are located in the north of the country. Some of them, like Shijinglong or Huaibei, are only a short drive away from Chinese capital Beijing.
Winter sports regions include provinces Heilongjiang, with ski resort Yabuli, and Jilin, with Changbaishan International, one of the largest and most modern resorts in China. At the South, you can ski in Sichuan, Hubei, or Shandong province, as well as the Islamic procinve of Xingjiang.
In Yunnan province you can also find the world's highest ski resort, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (4,700 metres).
