For a while now, Georgia has been an absolute trend destination for snow sports enthusiasts. Unlike alpine ski resorts, accommodation as well as ski passes are relatively cheap here. Moreover, the Caucasus has absolute snow reliability as well as great slopes with gorgeous panorama.
Georgia's best known ski resort is Gudauri, with elevations of 2,200 to 3,000 metres. With approximately 50 kilometres of slopes it is the country's largest ski resort. It also has possibilities for heli-skiing. Other notable winter sports regions include Bakuriani and Mestia.
