Product Summary

Due to its lighweight construction the Atomic Backland 89 SL W is easy to handle not only downhill but also during longer ascents. The Atomic Backland 89 SL W's full retail price is €699.99. The Ski costs roughly €80 more than the average price of all Backcountry Touring Skis, making it an upper mid-range model. The ski is very smooth and forgiving. It's the perfect tool for intermediate skiers. The Backland 89 SL W is a more off-piste oriented ski which rides great in deep powder. Thanks to its versatility however, it is also fun on groomers from time to time. The ski is available from 155 to 169cm.

The ski in details

The Atomic Backland 89 SL W is a superlight all-around touring ski for women seeking uphill agility and endless downhill possibility in a lower-impact design.

The Atomic Backland 89 SL W is a superlight, all-around touring ski for women who seek uphill agility and endless downhill possibility. A result of a scientific life cycle assessment, Atomic has created a ski with a lower-impact design to reduce material-based CO2 equivalent emissions by 30% without sacrificing an ounce of performance. The construction uses more wood, less fiberglass and resin, and waste-reducing sidewalls for a light, stronger, profile that thrives in any terrain. All-Terrain Profile changes the thickness curve, torsional stiffness, and flex pattern to create a highly versatile ski shape. A caruba and poplar UltraLight Woodcore combined with a stabilizing Carbon Backbone adds powerful downhill performance. The wider 89mm waist and the uniquely beveled HRZN 3D tip offers more float in deeper snow. For the ultimate touring set up, pair with an Atomic PreFit skin.
