Blizzard Zero G 105 (Backcountry Touring Ski 2024/2025)

Product Summary

Due to its lighweight construction the Blizzard Zero G 105 is easy to handle not only downhill but also during longer ascents. The Blizzard Zero G 105's full retail price is €900. The Ski costs roughly €270 more than the average price of all Backcountry Touring Skis, making it a real luxury Ski. The ski is very smooth and forgiving. It's the perfect tool for intermediate skiers. The Zero G 105 is a pure freeride ski. Riding on groomers is no problem but due to its fairly wide waist the ski has a strong bias towards powder runs. The ski is available from 164 to 188cm.

The ski in details

The Zero G 105 brings Blizzard’s 79 years of experience building ripping skis to the backcountry touring stage.

Powered by an ultra-lightweight paulownia wood core paired with an updated iteration of Blizzard’s proven Carbon Drive technology, the Zero G 105 feels just as at home on the skin track as it does attacking the fall line.

Weight: 2640g @ 164cm

Technologies

  • Construction: Carbon Drive 3.0
  • Core key materials: Isocore/Beech/Poplar Woodcore
  • Rocker: Tip-Tail Rocker
  • Factory ski angle (base): 0.9°
  • Factory ski angle (side): 87.5°

TOURING CONSTRUCTION
This Trueblend Tour woodcore uses a specific blend of woods to deliver perfect flex for touring requirements. Paulownia offers an unbeatable strength-to-weight ratio, while poplar gives high energy performance without sacrificing durability.

CARBON REINFORCEMENT
The Carbon Drive 3.0 is empowered by two underfoot carbon reinforcements. The carbon reinforcements are two edge-to-edge layers of bi-direction carbon fiber placed in the binding mounting areas, in order to provide:

  • IMPROVED EDGE GRIP
  • ENHANCED POWER TRANSMISSION

CARBON DRIVE 3.0
The Carbon Drive 3.0 is the technology upgrade of the Carbon Drive 2.0 technology: a full length 3D shaped unidirectional carbon fiber chassis running through the entire length of the ski, combined with an ultra-light pawlonia woodcore or ISO/BEECH/POPPLAR core: this combination guarantees a super lite construction keeping the necessary structure for performance. Ensures optimal torsional rigidity and flex, placing the carbon in those area where it is really needed.

CARBON DRIVE 2.0 VS CARBON DRIVE 3.0
The new Carbon Drive has been placed below the fiberglass +  carbon layer
Review of the carbon chassis shape to provide less rigidity in tip and tails.
