Elan was founded in 1945 by passionate ski jumper Rudi Finzgar, and is based in Begunje, Slovenia. Initially stocking a broad range of sports products, Elan specialised in ski production from the 1970s onwards. The Swede Ingmar Stenmark recorded the first Ski World Cup victory with Elan skis during this time.
Elan primarily focuses on innovative product development, the latest technologies and top-notch functionality. In the 1990s, the company helped fuel the carving revolution and is one of the leading manufacturers of skis and snowboards with its in-house developed construction technologies. The company has picked up numerous awards for its technology and design, including the Ispo Award 2016/2017 and the Plus X Award 2015 and 2016.
