Stöckli Edge TR (Backcountry Touring Ski 2024/2025)

Product Summary

Due to its lighweight construction the Stöckli Edge TR is easy to handle not only downhill but also during longer ascents. The Stöckli Edge TR's full retail price is 1.099 €. The Ski costs roughly 480 € more than the average price of all Backcountry Touring Skis, making it a real luxury Ski. This ski is just right for good skiers. Stable but not overpowering. The Edge TR is a more off-piste oriented ski which rides great in deep powder. Thanks to its versatility however, it is also fun on groomers from time to time. The ski is available from 158 to 178cm.

The ski in details

With the Edge TR, Stöckli is launching a completely redesigned touring ski.

Thanks to an extremely lightweight wooden core, this ski is even lighter than its predecessor. And all of this without compromising on stability or performance. The Edge TR now also comes with a Vario Side Cut. This means that the waist varies depending on the length of the ski. Meaning, it's even easier for you to find the perfect ski for your next ski tour. So, the only question left is: where to go? The Edge TR will accompany you everywhere and is particularly excited about great descents from the world's most beautiful mountain peaks.

Technologies

Rocker
The gradual bending up of the ski at its tip and tail is called the rocker. Stöckli modifies the rocker according to the type of ski. Typically, the longer and more pronounced the rocker, the more lift is generated and the more responsive and easy-turning the ski becomes.

  • Better float in powder
  • Less effort required
  • Easier to turn on pistes
  • Easier edging

Light Core & Super Light Core
Particularly light European wood species are deployed in the all-mountain, freeride/off-piste and touring segments. This makes the core a little softer and suppler, which lends the ski dynamism and makes it very durable.

  • Reduced weight due to ultralight cores
  • Dynamic ski response
  • Very durable

Thin Glass Laminate
This fiberglass laminate is 25% lighter than its conventional counterpart. The optimized material composition maintains the stiffness of the fiberglass and thus the ski’s handling characteristics.

  • Lighter in weight, same degree of flex

Polywall
This sidewall is slightly softer and therefore more elastic than the phenolic sidewall. It exhibits damping properties and thus boasts significantly higher impact resistance.

  • Highly robust
  • High impact resistance
  • Damping properties

Touring Tail
Stöckli´s touring skis feature special milling at the tail end to facilitate the attachment of climbing skins. The hook at the end of the skin is afforded additional protection by the milling of the tail guard. Very practical when it’s cold or you have to get a move on. This feature also makes the end of the ski a little softer and smoother.

  • Secure attachment of climbing skins
  • Reduced weight
  • Softer torsion at the tail of the ski

Touring Super Light Edges
These special edges for touring skis are not as wide or as high as traditional alpine edges.

  • Weight savings (up to 25% lighter than SME light)

Tail Rocker
Rocker: A longer rocker at the tail with a flatter radius.

  • With the longer, extended rocker, the edge in contact with the snow is decreased, making the ski more playful.
  • The longer rocker enables optimum grip when edging.

Freeride Tip Technology
Light, stiff insert material at the tip makes the shovel more stable and less jittery. This light Freeride Tip material helps generate more lift in deep snow.

  • Improved lift with lower swing weight and more stable shovel
  • Easy, effortless skiing in all snow conditions

Titanal Technology Evo
Special powder coating on the Titanal surface of the touring skis inspired by the water-repellency of the lotus flower.

  • Reduces the accumulation of snow on the ski surface
  • Enhanced scratch resistance
  • Agreeable haptic
  • Reduced weight, as the graphics are printed directly on the Titanal
