Stöckli Montero AS (All Mountain Ski 2024/2025)

Product Summary

The Stöckli Montero AS's full retail price is 1 099 €. The Ski costs roughly 440 € more than the average price of all All Mountain Skis, making it a real luxury Ski. The ski is very smooth and forgiving. It's the perfect tool for intermediate skiers. The All Mountain Ski prefers perfectly groomed runs over fresh powder. However due to its medium-width waist, this ski is also a good shout for riders who like to venture off piste from time to time. The ski is available from 160 to 178cm. The skis handle like slalom race skis. Perfect edge hold and a small radius ranging from 12,60 m to 16 m make them the first choice for short turns.

The ski in details

The Montero line is synonymous with adventure, closeness to nature and versatility. And that’s exactly where the Montero AS fits in – seamlessly.

With a waist width of 76 mm, this all-mountain ski is an absolute fun machine that invites you to play with the conditions on the slope. Designed for short to medium radii, the Montero AS impresses with its easy handling and high agility. Appropriately, AS stands for “All-mountain Slalom”. This makes this ski perfect for those who like fast alternating turns without much effort.

Technologies

Rocker
The gradual bending up of the ski at its tip and tail is called the rocker. Stöckli modifies the rocker according to the type of ski. Typically, the longer and more pronounced the rocker, the more lift is generated and the more responsive and easy-turning the ski becomes.

  • Better float in powder
  • Less effort required
  • Easier to turn on pistes
  • Easier edging

Light Core & Super Light Core
Particularly light European wood species are deployed in the all-mountain, freeride/off-piste and touring segments. This makes the core a little softer and suppler, which lends the ski dynamism and makes it very durable.

  • Reduced weight due to ultralight cores
  • Dynamic ski response
  • Very durable

Full Edge Contact
The widest points of the ski are set further forward or back. This makes the shovel grip faster and the part of the edge in contact with the snow when the ski is tilted becomes longer.

  • Easier, faster turn initiation
  • Improved grip in the turn due to the longer contact area

Solid Metal Edge Light
Same edge width as the SME. A modified die-cutting procedure, however, means the edge is inserted less deeply into the ski, which saves weight.

  • Longer service life
  • Reduced susceptibility to damage
  • More grinding possible

Adaptive Contact Length
The widest point on the shovel is set further forward. Together with a slight rocker (more gradual up-bend of the shovel), the more the ski is tilted, the further forward the contact point of the edge with the snow moves. This preserves its nimble characteristics without sacrificing stability and grip during the turn.

  • The greater the tilt, the higher the stability and sense of security
  • Playful and good-natured at lesser tilt angles

Tail Rocker
Rocker: A longer rocker at the tail with a flatter radius.

  • With the longer, extended rocker, the edge in contact with the snow is decreased, making the ski more playful.
  • The longer rocker enables optimum grip when edging.

Flex Torsion Control
An S-shaped notch in the aluminum at the shovel and tail of the ski offers softer flex and torsion at the front and rear. As a result, the ski exhibits more torsional flex, making it easier to initiate turns. At the same time, when changing direction, the ski remains under control because the torsion can adapt.

  • Improved control when changing direction
  • Easier steering in and out of turns
