The ski in details
World Cup slalom legend with the most radical radius.
Introduced in 1970 as the Renntiger, no other Völkl epitomises performance and success quite like the Racetiger. The Racetiger SL comes into its own on slalom courses and on general pistes in tight bends and wherever you need lightning-fast edge changes, responsiveness, and a consistently superlative glide. The Racetiger SL features Tailored Carbon Tips. Tailor-made carbon fibres allow the ski to be adapted to exactly the things it’s going to be used for. The strength and alignment of the fibres define the force you need to apply and the energy that builds up in exactly the right places, which means agile shovel reaction with a precise response the moment you initiate a turn. The SL can be steered around the tightest bends with less power input but with no loss whatsoever in precision and control. Its performance is due to a short and flat tip rocker and, most especially, his geometry in the tip area. A narrow waist delivers a much dynamic, responsive ride with high-precision edge changes.
Technologies
Multilayer Woodcore 1
The side wall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core.
Tailored Carbon Tips
In this innovative manufacturing process the new Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material. This allows them to be positioned exactly along the stress lines, opening up completely new possibilities, for performance at the front of the ski, which has a decisive influence on the handling of the ski.
Full Titanal
The titanium setup makes the ski agile and dynamic. Especially friends of a hard, fast and aggressive riding style benefit from the quick response of this construction.
3D.GLASS
Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns.
Full Sidewall ABS
ABS is a durable and resilient plastic known for its strength and impact resistance. It offers high resistance to shocks and impacts, making the ski more robust and long-lasting. These sidewalls allow for precise power transfer from the skier to the edges of the ski.
Tip Rocker
Only bends upwards in the shovel area, while the middle and tail of the ski feature a camber shape.
Base P-Tex 4504
A sintered, ultra-high molecular polyethylene base with an extremely high density.
rMotion 3 GW:
- Smooth & consistent drifting at moderate speed
- Tighter turns with less efforts at higher speeds
