The ski in details
For the ambitious SL teenage athlete going for gold
The Racetiger SL R WC FIS is the perfect ski for ambitious U18 athletes working towards taking part in the European Cup.
The Tailored Carbon Tip offers a very precise, direct and reliable shovel response, which helps the athlete to take a shorter and narrower radius to the gate. The geometry also works in this direction and make it possible to ski a shorter way in front of the gate and thus a tighter and faster turn at every single gate. Two layers of full titanal, the world cup woodcore a mix of ash- and poplar wood and full sidewalls give the ski the necessary stability and dynamism to find the fastest line in the gates. It is delivered without factory tuning, so it can be fully customized to the athletes needs. Völkl recommends using the Marker Interface WC plate and the Marker Comp 20 or 30 binding to go with this model.
Technologies
Full Sidewall Phenol
The special surface structure in combination with the material composition reduces icing because it allows the snow to simply slide off. This leads to a drastic reduction in weight during use up to 20 - 30%. Thanks to the lighter skis, long and steep assents can be better managed.
WorldCup Woodcore
In order to offer the best combination for optimal ski bending, Völkl uses a special mixture of 50% ash and 50% poplar wood for the Worldcup Woodcore.
Base P-Tex 2510
A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability
Full Titanal
The titanium setup makes the ski agile and dynamic. Especially friends of a hard, fast and aggressive riding style benefit from the quick response of this construction.
Tailored Carbon Tips
In this innovative manufacturing process the new Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material. This allows them to be positioned exactly along the stress lines, opening up completely new possibilities, for performance at the front of the ski, which has a decisive influence on the handling of the ski.
3D.GLASS
Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns.
